Didnt Pull the Trigger on the trade. Got a few questions. Wondering if i was smart

I did not pull the trigger on the trade sunday. Although the owner was chomping at the bit for my boat.

PRO's
The boat cranked up on almost the first turnover and ran fine.

It honestly looked a ton better than in the pics. I was expecting a disaster but it wasnt bad.

Con's
When we took it out on the water it felt like it didnt wanna open up to full throttle. It would take off and idle fine but then just never finish accelerating.

The boat seemed to list to the right alot more than it should, made me wonder if the foam may be waterlogged.

And where the actual motor attaches to the shaft on the inside water was leaking out and filling it up. It was also pumping water where it was supposed to but im pretty sure it will need some kind of gasket.

Just wondering if anybody thinks i made the right choice or should have gotten it anyway.?

Not making a trade is never the wrong choice! There will always be another one in time.

Given the way you felt about the boat, I would say you did the correct thing.

Thanks a bunch. I was just looking for a little reassurance.

I think now unless another trade comes up my plan is to sell mine and buy a 75 hp motor because my dad has a 17 ft bass tracker that has a perfect hull just needs new decks and a motor from being stored outside since the motor broke down about 6 years ago.

Should be an easy fun project. Ill make sure to post pics of the build in the forums.
