Hello

My outboard is an Evinrude 100hp 1989.
I just recently put her in the water so I havn't runned her, all that much this season.

Today I took her out for a little spin and decided to fuel her up. To do so I must unplug the gas line. Once all my tanks were filled up I tried to start her and she just woudn't start.
It was just turning and turning. I had to stop cause I didn't want to drain the battery.

What could of happened? Usually after one or two turns of the key it starts.
Could air had got in the line? Did I drown the motor??
I waited for an hour and she finally started.....

Any suggestions????
Thanks

What did the primer bulb feel like before you tried to start it after you reconnected the fuel line?

After I reconnected the gas line I pumped the primer bulb. It seemed pretty normal.

If the fuel drained out of the line while it was disconnected, it could do that.

Is the motor running normally now that it has started?

Yes, I finally got it started after an hour of waiting around. But I don't believe the gas would have drain out. Especially it's a brand new line and end connectors.

I bet you did not buy the OEM connectors and are sucking air.
