hi guys

just going through the boat cleaning up and freshening up all earthing points and connections in general.

i have read posts saying once the areas are sanded back and clean - put some dielectric grease on to avoid corrosion recurring.

i am in the uk and nobody i have asked at various stores knows what dielectric grease is? is it just ptfe based white grease in a can?

is vaseline or copper grease acceptable?

cheers

Re: Dielectric grease - What is it....?

Dielectric grease is a non-conductive, silicone grease designed to seal out moisture and, therefore, prevent corrosion on electrical connectors. Being non-conductive, it does not enhance the flow of electrical current. This property makes it an ideal lubricant and sealant for the rubber portions of electrical connectors.
