With all the knowledge I have seen presented in the various forums and the attention to detail which everyone seems to have, why have I not seen anyone recommend using dielectric grease on all electrical (spark plug) components? Please explain.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Dielectric grease

I use it on my trailer hookup and coat all of the bulbs on my trailer before I install them to reduce/inhibit corrosion and loss of connection. Also any where else i bring together two connectors on an auto or boat thats exposed to weather or on the outside of an auto. Also lawnmowers, weedeaters, etc. Probably use it too much, but have never experienced a problem associated with its use. Always on any sparkplug wire or any sort of rubber boot.

Never tried it on toast though.

Re: Dielectric grease

If a connection does not give problems, I don't recommend it because it is really messy. If a connection does give problems, I recommend it because the benefit outweighs the bother.
