Hey. Looking to possibly get into wakesurfing...
anyone know what the differences are between a regular board and a wakesurf board? Can I just get a surfboard and use it behind the boat?

also - should I get a longer board or a shorter board, advantages??

any info is appreciated, thanks.

No difference. BUT I hope you are not gonna surf behind the boat in your profile because surfing behind an I/O is asking for trouble. I have a 20' BR with tower, perfect pass and ballast that throws a decent wake but NFW I would surf behind it, that is for my buddies V drive only.

Ok. Just want some more info on this.
The wakesurf boards I see seem to have grip over the whole board, while surf boards have just the plexiglass/expoxy, usually with no grip. Will this make any difference on the wake?

Does anyone know for sure that theres no difference? Is the design, weight, or fin placement different? It just seems to me that they must have some differences for different uses. Maybe not...
anyone know for sure?

Well Surfboards, you qalways wax them to give them grip... always never seen a board w.o. I guess the advantage for the wakesurf board is that you wouldn't have melting wax on your boat...

Hi..
The only difference between a wakeboard and a surfboard is that the wakeboard requires a board should be one size larger than that normally recommended for ocean surfing.
