Re: Difference between Turbo 1 and Turbo Lighting
Thanks for the response.
Dale, you and I have discussed Turbo TXP's and Lightnings on this form and via email. I am considering getting a 21 Lighting from you. A 14 1/4" X 21 Turbo 1 has come available to me. Therefore I pose this question to you.
You and I have disccused that the 14 3/4" X 21 Lightning may be best for my set up. You have recommended against the TXP, as in my application I'm looking for bow lift . In your opinion which of the three would be a better bow liffter: Turbo Lightning, Turbo 1 or Turbo 2. Or are they all comprable. What is the differnce between the Turbo 1 and Turbo 2?
From what you had mentioned earlier, I am thinking that I could probably run a heigher engine hight with the Lighting to take advantage of it's agressive blade design and diameter.
I do not have a low water pickup up and I'm not sure if I could raise my engine up enought to take advantage of the Lightnings design.
If I was to run my engine at the current height (prop shaft 4" below the lowest point of the V) or slightly higher pending water pressure, would it be correct to assume that the Lighting would pull harder (rpm wise) than a Turbo 1 or 2 of the same pitch?
I'm not trying to sell myself on the Turbo 1, but I am interested in running a Turbo prop as I have heard alot of good things about them. I just want to make the corrrect choice. I am was concerned that I may not be able to take advantage of what the Lightning has to offer without a lower water pick up. (as per the gentlman from Finland REALMASA, that bought the 21 TXP and is looking for a change)
Of the following props what do you feel would give the best bow lift in order of best to worst.
Raker (small vent holes old style) 14 1/2" X 22 pitch
Turbo 1 14 1/4" X 21 pitch
Turbo 2 14 1/4" X 21 pitch
Turbo Lightning 14 3/4 " X 21 pitch
Laser II 13 3/4 " X 21 pitch
Thanks for your time,d

looking forward to your response.
