I have found a manual for a 1977 TXL 115 hp Johnson. What is the difference between the TXL and the ETL for that year. I have an ETL and I'm assuming it has something to do with the lower unit, i.e. long shaft, etc.

Jamie

I think you are correct, Jamie.

T is the code for T&T, XL is the code for Extra long (25") shaft. E is the code for electric start. I think their format only allowed three code letters before the year code, so the E was left off the TXL.

That's my guess, anyway. The manual should work fine.

Good luck. :)
