Difference merc 5.7 and OMC 5.7 late 80s

Some technical data is hard to get for the OMC but easily found for the merc.
So i wonder would it be OK to take the jetting scheme for a Qudrajet on a merc and use it on the OMC?
There should be about the same motor and HP, but could another compression ratio or another cam make this a stupid move?
Is there anybody out here knowing factory specs for the OMC quadrajet, please tell me.
