Does anyone have experience with these two models (V4S-10 and V4S-11). I have a 1959 model(11), but I'm having trouble finding parts. Strangely enough, I've found plenty of parts for the 1958 model. Are most of these interchangable? Are there any major differences between the two years I need to be aware of?

It may help to know what parts you want to know about.

I guess I was just wondering in _general_ what the differences are. For instance, could I slap a '58 lower unit on a '59 motor?

The main changes were in the carburetion, as the 1959 model used a "fuel saver" linkage to reduce fuel consumption. Basic parts are pretty much all interchangeable as systems, but you might run into problems intermatching bits and pieces...

- Scott
