Differences between 1976 and 1977 Evinrude Motors?

I'm in need of an OMC service manual and can't justify (to my wife) spending the $50 that it will cost me for the 1977 manual.<br /><br />There's a 1976 manual on ebay that covers the same 85hp motor that I have. Can I use this as a reference when servicing my 1977 motor?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Joe

I can think of no reason why not.

Should be 99.5% identical (if not 100%). Be advised the 1977 135hp is different from the 1976 135, but the rest of the 1974-77 V4s are pretty much identical.
