dinged prop

I hit some wood with my aluminum prop. I have a 25 hp merc. I dinged the one blade. Roughed the edge somewhat. I filed it down and can hardly notice any difference between it and the other blades. I know about the balance of pros and am wondering if running on this particular prop would damage anything.

It depends on two things, Missed_shot.<br /><br />First, on how much weight you removed while cleaning up the dinged edge.<br /><br />Second, on whether the effective pitch of that blade was changed by the collision with the log.<br /><br />You probably wouldn't do any harm by trying it out.<br /><br />If you get noticable vibration a good prop shop can recondition and balance it for a lot less than a new prop.<br /><br />Good luck.
