Dinghy Stowage for trips on Cruiser

Hey crew!

We're considering scooping up a 7' or 8' inflatable dinghy for shenanigans in the marina, but we'd like the ability to take it with on longer weekend trips. I have the davits for a dinghy on our swim platform, or could tie it down inverted on the bow, but I'm wondering if anyone has any pro-tips or existing threads / blog posts regarding the best or creative ways to stow a small outboard for these trips?

Not all that attractive, but on it's side on the swim platform is certainly practical. Easy to put there and no chance of filling with water if it gets real nasty,
