Re: dirty fenders

Regular paint will just crack and peel right off those vinyl fenders.

However, go visit your local auto parts store and look for vinyl upholstery paint. It's available in many colors, and actually bonds perfectly with vinyl. You'll have to go darker than the current fender color, but if you follow the instructions and apply it correctly, it should do just fine.

SEM is a good brand. Rustoleum also makes vinyl pait.

Before you paint, give whitewall tire cleaner a try. If that fails, I have taken a random orbital sander and sanded the stains and scuffs down a little. You'd probably have to sand anyway to get the paint to stick.

Another great cleaner is GOJO hand cleaner... works great on getting out many kinds of stains and grime.

My boat came with some of the dingiest yellowed bumpers I ever saw, It took some comet and a green scotchbrite pad to make them presentable again.

Bondo -- I made a set for mine last year out of velcro and nylon in black and they did look sharp! just a square sleeve and the velcro straps at the top.
