Not sure right forum. Boat is a 2000 stratos 21ss extreme. Motor is a 2003 225 mercury. Who would you contact/get parts from to cut off the hotfoot put gas/forward/reverse back to the control box is it mercury marine? Got no where with stratos. Would be nice to update the control box to. Was told the old cable might still be there ob to control box. Need advice real bad with this. Sorry 4got to take nitro off she got traded for a stratos. Try add a link.

Re: Disconnect hotfoot

You just need a shorter cable in place of the hot foot cable that goes to the throttle. You'll have to measure from the controller to the motor the route you will run the cable. F/N/R still go to the controller . Those controllers last a long time but if you need a new one they can usually be found for $150 or so on ebay new in the box. Mine was about that much last year for a new production Mercury controller.

Just looked at the photos... All you need do is measure up for a new cable, and run it from the engine to the existing commander control box.... Real simple job. ;)

Re: Disconnect hotfoot

I understand your desire to get rid of the hotfoot. They're great if you want to go stupid fast . They're lousy for pulling skiers, tubers, fishing and pretty much everything else besides going stupid fast.
