What is involved in disconecting oil injection on a 1986 Mariner 150 Magnum? I have ran into too many people who have lost their motors without warning because of failures in this system. I would have more peace of mind on premix. I have searched through old posts and heard of a block off plate for the pump and to be sure and plug the oil to fuel line to prevent sucking air, where can i find one of these block offs? I have also thought about running synthetic at 100:1 in the fuel tank and leaving it hooked up, think it will run decent with the little bit of extra oil? Thank you for taking the time to read my post, looking foward to hearing from you.

You can get the cover. from your mercury parts dealer. The pump comes off and the cover bolts right back on.

Yes, When I bought the boat/motor the oil injection was removed. The large oil tank was gone, and the hose that goes to the motor from the tank was cut and plugged just where it enters the engine. The other hose that goes to the small resevoir tank from the onboard tank was plugged also . The pump was still on the motor, so I bought the cover and took it off.<br />Never had any problems...
