I have a fairly new shift cable my father had put in. I replaced my gimbal bearing, and am in the process of replacing my bellows, but in order to get my shift bellow on i need to pull out my cable, put on new one, and push it back through.

I've accomplished step 2 by loosenging that jame nut and separating that piece off. There is the cable and the little almost brass part on the end thats too large to get out the the back of the boat. Step 3 says to make a cut but that is to replace a shift cable so i need a little guidance. Thanks!

Don't cut the cable where the support tube is. If it won't come off just try pinching it 90* from where it was pinched or crimped on the cable. If you cut it you will need a new cable wire.
