discontinued parts!!!

I recently discovered that the distributor cap for a 1969 650 (4 cyl., serial # 2606484) is a discontinued part. Are there any aftermarket suppliers I should know about? Is there a compatible distributor from a different model I can retrofit (and get parts!)? I'd hate to think I have to scrap an otherwise perfectly good motor for want of a hunk of plastic.

Are they available anywhere? If yours is truly a spare, is it for sale? According to Oldmercs.com, they use the same rotor, so I guess it stands to reason they'd use the same cap.

Check with A local boatyard they should have A good used one.
