I"M Back.....for some more amazing solutions as received at this site with previous issues. Way to go guys..and gals.

I have spent hours on the internet and personal visits auto parts stores with no success in locating a source for distributor advance springs for a 1977 ford 302 marine engine, (OMC 990-230E) or for the related OEM (distributor part 0980902), Or for the (Mallory part YL512CV), or the Sierra replacement distributor (18-5309-1).

The only spring kit I found that seemed right for a 302 Ford marine engine marine was a Summit Auto (29014) but it is no longer available.

Has anyone been down this road before? Or any recommendations on where to obtain the springs without buying the whole distributor? Thanks.

pick up the phone and CALL the folks at Mallory (Holley Performance) and get the springs you need. Sierra is simply a frigging middle man, and the only (and I repeat only) parts store that may have a chance is a Napa.

your best bet is either direct from Mallory, or an old (read owned by really old guy that has a beard to his knees) speed shop with a distributor machine that services old distributors.
