Re: Ditch the Ty- Raps????
Nothing wrong with either! Stainless worm clamps do well if you take care to buy ALL stainless. Some have a stainless band with a regular plated steel screw and are still described as stainless on the package. It is also easy to get them too tight and cut into the hose. That said, I have a couple of engines that have had them for years with no problems.
Elecrical wraps are faster to put on and can be adequately tightened by "rolling " the free end over the catch with a pliers OR (preferable) using a tightening tool. They can not be overtightened as they will slip/strip, and are easy to remove--just cut the catch. They are so cheap that desrtoying them to disassemble the lines is the way to go--even if you do it a lot. They will not cut the fuel lines and are small enough that you can double wrap if you feel insecure, assuming you have a narrow enough width band.
Personally: I never use hose clamps any more. Any engine I work on gets the plastic ties. All the engine manufacturers are using them so they can't be too prone to failure. I haven't yet had a fuel line leak or pop off a fitting either. So maybe you were just lucky. Replace with whicever type you fell comfortable with and don't worry.
