Hello, My bell housing is broken on my Bravo one and I have another one that is slightly different. My broken one has two grooves on top, the other one doesn't have the grooves. It seems to fit but I'm not sure what the difference is. Who knows and can I use the one without the 2 grooves?

Ayuh,.... The housin' without the relief cuts is an older housin',....

It's possible for yer drive to bind against the housin', at full up trim, without the cuts,....

Others who know the Bravo better than me will be along with more info on it,....

Thanks Bondo. If that's the only thing then I can use the limit switch to restrict the pull up. But let's wait what others have to say. If I can use it without other problems or not.

It's a boat that is never on a trailer.

Yes it is the newer housing and keeps the gimbal bolt/nuts from coming in contact with the bell housing in full up position. Adjusting the trim limit will not stop contact if it were to happen. In most all cases this will not be an issue. Bring drive full up once installed to see if there is an issue.

The new housing allows more travel Manual indicates that using this housing requires trim limit pins and or spaces to limit trim in and/or trim up. The newer upper housing has a oval slot for a spacer pin to be installed Forward for B1 and 2, and Rear for B3 drives.

My first thought is you should be fine as is, but check to make sure.

Thanks AllDodge, I will install this Bell Housing and see if there is a problem. I've never trimmed up to the end so I don't think there is an issue.
