Has anybody used, installed, or seen these towers on a boat. I have a 1990 Maxum 1800xr w/ outboard, that I cannot justify a $1200 Monster tower. The universal swoop is $675 and the cage is $500. I like the swoop for resale and looks, but the cage for the price. This is my first boat and just started wakeboarding, and will probably upgrade in a couple years.

Thanks

Re: DIYwake.com tower quality?

I like them. I have never owned one, but i have heard that they are pretty good towers for the money. I almost bought one a few days ago until i found out that i needed to replace my engine (ouch). I personally like like the universal swoop tower. I looks nice, and although its a little bit more expensive, it come with shipping and hardware for all about half the price of a monster tower. I have also heard that they are pretty easy to install which would be convenient.

I know someone who has one on their boat, and from what they told me, they are good quality for the price. Not the best quality, but if your just looking for something to start with that will last, I would buy the tower.
