DJ,
I read one of your posts and you said you were repainting a 16 foot sea nymph. the exact same project I am working on. If you can help me out at all with the details of your project i would apreciate it, ( exact paint strippers, primers, top coats, ect. anything about the process, coatings, and how your boat turned out.) thank you

Re: DJ, help needed with a 16 foot sea nymph

thanks DJ. I learned a lot about the painting process, but am still unsure about one thing, should I use a chemical paint remover before I sand, and wash the hull down with vinegar and water solution, or should I do it just as you said. Also I saw that someone requested a copy of the console blueprints, and wireing schematics, I would also like to have a copy, since i will be replacing all of my decks as well, and while I am at it I might as well do the console. Also any information on replacing decks, and the carpeting process. Thanks alot, If you have any of the blue prints, or schematics, email me at www.Said5452@yahoo.com

Al52bert,

If the paint that is on the hull now is adhering well you do not need to remove it. Just scuff it up with 120 grit. The same goes for any bare spots.

Washing the whole hull with vinegar/water will not hurt any existing paint and will help adhesion on the bare spots. Of xcourse, the bare spots must then be coated with zinc chromate.

Sorry, I do not have any blueprints, the total design was in my head.
