I'm winterizing a 4.3GL Volvo Penta with a SX sterndrive. First year with this boat. All the manuals I have tell me to drain the water from the power streering cooler. I can't find the cooler. Do all 4.3GL's with power steering have coolers? I have crawle all over this engine and still can't find one.

Thanks for any help.

FYI I'm not flushing with anti-freeze. Just pulled the 2 block plugs, 2 plugs from the exhaust manifold and disconnected all the hoses from the thermostat and water pumps. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything...like the power steering cooler

If you have power steering, you have a cooler. Just follow the lines from the power steering assist cylinder on the transom shield of the boat. The return line will go directly to the cooler. Usually mounted on the back of the engine. What model year do you have (Model number. something like 4.3GLXXXXX where the X's are a line of letters) Need to know what those letters are.

You have an EF model. Those coolers usually have one end lower than the other, and the low end usually has a hose going to the raw water pump inlet fittin. If you take the hose off the pump, it will drain the cooler. Check it out and see if yours is setup that way.
