Replaced the coils (2) this morning and about 3 hours later I noticed something running down under one of the coils. I took it apart and the coil was covered with a light oil. Inside and outside the rubber cover. Wasn't there when I installed it. Brand new Sierra coils.
I can't figure where this oil came from. No cracks or anything that I could see.

Look for a hose that is split on the block.-----It would be an oil recirculation hose.----No oil in the coils.

Mixed oil 2 stroke. No oil lines.
I didn't think they had any oil in them but just can't see where it came from. Oh well, wiped it down and put it back on.
Thanks

With the advent of the CDI/CDM potted module the old style oil can with a coil in it went by the wayside. The CDI dissipation is transferred to the mounting plate via the aluminum tub into which the parts and epoxy are deposited. The old style coil used oil as a heat transfer mechanism (to the outside case) and high voltage dielectric to prevent arcing.

Nothing wrong with the cylinder bleed tube. I haven’t even started the motor just installed the coils.
Although I haven't figured out where that oil came from I did get the answer to my question. Thanks gang...
