98 Johnson 115hp 60 degree. I have a Clymers Manual but its not very clear on where it's located or how to test it. In fact it seems my engine may not have a rectifier, but a stator instead.
Ken....your engine has one and a stator to.<br /><br />The stator which is an AC generator is under the flywheel. The rectifier/regulator sets on top of the block between the heads. The rectifier takes the AC and turns it to DC for charging the battery. It has cooling water around it to keep it cool. Should see a flat looking cap with I think about sex bolts holding it in.
Is that a new grade stamped fastener?? Just kidding , we know what you ment , HA!
