are the two holes in my exhaust housing a tell tell? i remember reading on here a while back about making something with some tube and tapping a hole. if its not a tell tell what is the proper way to go about putting one on.im finishing up a rebuild and wanted to make sure cooling system was working good from here on out.
i DID buy a new vernatherm(thermostat).

Hey tschamp, how's the rebuild coming along? A tell tell ay? That sounds interesting. I just purchased a vernatherm, spring, check valve, check valve spring, hoses, and the whole nine yards for mine.

I'm interested in this myself.

Okay so here it is:

Turns out mine didn't have a flat spot on the side. So, I put some spacers under my coils and drilled into the top of #1. And, rather than use the plastic piece that went through the bottom cowling, I simply put in a rubber grommet same size as the OD of the hose and ran the hose right through that.

Here is the place to drill and tap. A lot of motors are already drilled and tapped and plugged. The spot has been around since 1960 when it was used to supply hot water for the automatic choke in those days.
