Do I have the right part

I have just received a new reverse gear and clutch dog for my 28hp 1962 Johnson. The clutch dog appears to have much bigger lugs than the old clutch dog. I?m hoping that the old clutch dog has been machined at some stage and the new one will work. The part number of the new clutch dog is correct and looks the same as the picture in the parts catalog. Its fits onto the prop shaft and all other dimensions are the same as the old clutch dog. Anyway if some could look at the pictures and let me know if the new clutch dog is the right part it would be much appreciated

I would say it is a " new and improved part " and that is all.
