I am replacing a pre 86 350 in a volvo 280 leg boat with a late 90's vortec 350 out of a truck(of course adding all the marine necessary parts). Will my existing flywheel work or do I need a new one. If I need a new one what do I look for?

Re: do I need a new flywheel?

The answer to my question(after some online searching) I thought I would post so others will know. 92 and later engines had a different bolt pattern on the crank so therefore my pre 92 flywheel will not fit my post 92 engine.....yaaah me! I get to spend more money on my boat, I'll just have to convince myself that the new flywheel will increase the horsepower lots and is worth the extra money;)

Ayuh,... Actually, the change takes place at the end of 86, begining of 87....
It's the 2pc. rear main seal, vs. the 1pc. seal...
