Do I need a new prop

My 14x19R (814633) prop on the Volvo Penta 270 outdrive has a couple of very small dings. With things being tight and the price of new props, I'm hoping to hold off for now. My question is, at what point should I replace the prop?

My other question is, does anyone know who on the net carries used Volvo Penta props at a reasonable price? So far, I haven't seen any that fit on ebay.

This may sound like a silly question, but what country are you in?

Got a pic of the prop?

Most of the used props you will find on the net will be rebuilt anyway...you might as well have yours rebuilt for the same money...

Dunaruna, I'm located in Kalama, WA USA. I don't have a picure of the prop, but it has a couple of very small dings. It's a prop for the Volvo Penta 270 outdrive.

"...a couple of very small dings".

Why worry about them? If they're not causing vibration or any other noticable problems, those small dings probably don't make much of a difference.

However, an unbalanced prop could also damage your lower unit, so it might be a good idea to have your current prop reworked over the winter. Probably a lot cheaper than buying a new one. Unless, of course, you have an itch for a new shiny one...

I have the same issue.... I'm guessing that I probably shouldn't just file the edges smooth, right? Are there any recommended rebuilding services, and how much should it typically cost (3 blade for Mercruiser 135hp I/O).

One more question: I just bought the boat (new to prop boats, had jet boat before) and the anode/tab is cranked way to the left/port side (30 degrees off parallel as you're looking at the back). When driving the boat depending on amount of trim, the wheel pulls hard to the right or left depending on height/angle of the foot. if trimmed just right it will track straight without even holding the wheel. Is this normal? Is this where the anode should be?
