Do I need Hydraulic Steering?

I am about to put a 225 fourstroke on my boat. I currently have a standard rotary system used with the old 200 2 stroke yammy. I know I need to upgrade. My question is do I need hydraulic steering or can I get by with the best no feedback rotary system?

cggcpa1,

The cable system (Dual) will work fine.

However, once you've had hydraulic, it's hard to beat.

If I did not go hydraulic, I would at least go with the antifeedback teleflex steering head, if you plan on doing any kind of trolling, etc.

But, if you were happy with the way the boat handled before, you can always add the steering upgrades later.

You have to weigh - do you want to do it all at once, or take the boat out of commision long enough to do it later.
