Do I use locktite on the 6 out drive nuts or go dry?

Yep, proper nylock nuts are the way to go. A little grease goes a long way and helps prevent corrosion buildup.

Corrosion isn't as big an issue as is galling. Grease is essential.

I never grease mine since they get taken off every year. Also, by putting grease on them, you need to adjust the torque you use. You do use a torque wrench right?

I also replace the nuts after awhile.

Ayuh,.... Due to the beatin' I took from Don S 'bout usin' Never-sieze on everything,....

For the last 5 or 6 years, I've been usin' Perfect Seal, aka: Form-a-Gasket #3, on any bolt, nut or stud I hope to take apart again someday,....

I'm pleased to report that any nuts, 'n bolts I have had to take off again, always come right off as they should, 'n show signs of the #3 still there,....
It Seems, to work much better than Never-sieze,...

It's also what I dab on the drive studs when mountin' a drive,....
I still use grease to hold the o-rings in-place though,....
