if i get smart tabs will this affect my turning for the better or will it be worse? I have an 18' bowrider with a honda 90hp. I wakeboard in a channel and sometimes need good turning.

I've had great luck with the Nauticus SX tabs. I noticed less cavitating while turning and the boat had a better feel. For the $120 I paid and the ease of installation I would recommend them. Here's a link. Good luck! :)

they affect it for the better. When you turn one digs in and the other lets off. I can turn my boat on a dime now.

I have never used them, but in almost every post I have read, and every person I have talked to...
They work well.

I have almost never heard complaints...

The effect is for the better. The turns are flatter with less cavitation. In my experience there is no negative effect on the radius of the turn.

Thanks for the advice. Heard wakeboarding was started in FL. My mom and dad live in st.cloud and told me of these places were you can go and get pulled in the water with these cables everywhere. Have you ever been? Is it a must do when i visit them. I live in delaware were wakeboarding isn't that popular, but when i bought my boat i didn't even think about wakeboarding, my friend had a board we went out, and i was hooked. my boat isn't your typical wakeboat but it does the job.

There's a cable park here in EC KS. I've been twice - it's a seriously good time.
If you're thinking about sliders rent a board or buy a beater on ebay. Two or three hits will tear up the bottom pretty significantly.

There's a helmet cam video - check it out at KCwatersports.com

I have smart tabs on my Cobalt and they do work as advertised. Easier to plane at less speed, etc. What I did find out though is they will destroy your wake with washout. I ended up installing the transom brackets that allow you to retract them out of the water. The wake with these tabs down was horrible. If you install them, order the brackets so they can be retracted while boarding.

Thanks for the info drknute. I decided to go with the hydrofoil to avoid putting a bunch of holes on the back of my boat from the tabs and the brackets. I got an adapter plate for the hydrofoil and that avoided drilling holes on the motor.
