Do these cylinders need rebore Pics

1978 55hp 001.jpg1978 55hp 002.jpg1978 55hp 004.jpg[[/ATTACH]1978 55hp 002.jpgThink these cylinders need rebore? I think it was run with carb cleaner and the skirts started to gald. Top of bore looks good. Recently bought powerhead did not rn it myself. 2 cyl 55hp 1978. Had 150 compression.

From the pics it looks like rebore time.

As a general rule, If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail, it is time to recross thatch or rebore depending on depth fingernail goes in scratch.

If you were to hone it and put in new rings, it will probably run. Over time, the carbon from cylinder combustion will start to seep down those grooves and promote carbon around the ringsets and piston skirts, shortening engine life. Time for a rebore.

Yup, if you're down that far, rebore it and worry no more.
