Decided to clean the carborater on Saturday. I removed the engine cover to find the motor covered in wasps! Apparently they entered through the air vent on the back of the cowl and established two large nests. Luckily none of them made it to the carborater. I took it apart and thouroughy cleaned it and re-assemlbed it. If you keep your boat outside or in an open area under a carport you may want either cover the boat and motor or plug the air vent with a towel to prevent wasps and other critters from finding there way in there.

Bounce fabric softener sheets work well for deterring mice; I'm not sure about wasps. It'll smell good anyway.
