Yesterday my neighbor picked up a sweet deal- 16ft aero craft flat back canoe and a 1971 johnson 2hp mod. no. 2r71a. motor hadn't run in quite a while says the previous owner. We put the motor in a barrel and it fired up on the third pull (ok so far). I noticed that it looks like an air cooled motor, which would mean no pee hole, but after looking at diagrams, i see that it has a water pump and impeller. Does that mean it should pee? We are going to freshen her up a bit before we take it on the water (plug, gear lube, etc). but we are curious about the pump. any ideas?
