Sorry about that I thought I put that in it was found inside my 1987 Nissan NS40C engine base after pulling out the power unit

Was it loose and laying in the cowling, or was it inside the engine base casting? I don't have a clue what that part is at this point. Is that some sort of gear teeth on the one end?

Thank you very much. I had a carb rebuild done at the dealer a few years back I wonder if it fell in and was never found?

I can't find the choke plunger in the parts catalog is it part of the carb? I pulled the power unit and found it on the engine base. I just want to make sure it's not something that fell out when I pulled the powert unit.

Elvin is right! When you have the EP type (electric remote), the choke is operated by a solenoid, which you control by the push-to-choke feature of the key switch. The part is shown in fig 10 of the parts catalog. 361760730M PLUNGER, CHOKE SOLENOID.

Elvin is right! When you have the EP type (electric remote), the choke is operated by a solenoid, which you control by the push-to-choke feature of the key switch. The part is shown in fig 10 of the parts catalog. 361760730M PLUNGER, CHOKE SOLENOID.

I did notice that the auto chock on the control box was not working at all before I started this. Can the plunger just fall out or would someone have had to disassemble it?

The plunger is loose in the solenoid body, retained by the "hook" and "rod" that connect it to the carburetor, retained by a nylon nut. So if that linkage was removed, the plunger could come loose and fall down where you found it.
