Does Brand Matter for Coils and Points for the Universal Magneto Motors?

Hi,

Most of the posts here mention Sierra as a suitable brand for the Coils and tune up kits for the 50's and 60's OMC motors.

A visit to i-boats store lists coils by Mallory and CDI as well. I imagine that OMC also has their branded coil. Anyone have opinions?

The same question for points. I have read that the Sierra point sets have alignment problems. Should I buy Sierra or genuine OMC points?

Ditto for Impellars. Sierra OK?

Some of the other vendors have un-named products with weird numbers that I suspect are just Sierra products in disguise.

I have used Sierra coils, point sets and impellers, they all worked just fine. As a rule I use OMC/BRP stuff when available but that is just me and it would not surprise me to find out that some things are all made by the same vendor.
