Does it matter where the recirculation hoses are routed? (1992 90hp V4)

I'm just finishing up the powerhead for my project boat but I'm not sure if the routing of the recirculation valves is important.

Do the hoses need to be a certain length or routed a certain way to move the fuel effectively? The motor is a 1992 90hp ve90tlend crossflow. The way I have them now looks as if the the lines for cylinder 1 and 2 at the carb will get in the way of the throttle linkage. Can i run these out the other side and under the carbs up to the port for the center bearing?

Also, is this the correct way to connect the lines?
#4 carb to #2 cylinder
#3 carb to #1 cylinder
#1 and #2 carb to center crank bearing.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

If no one has any objections, I going to route them like I mentioned above. Can anyone confirm that this will work?
