My pontoon normally will run 5000 rpms at wot with just my wife and I in the boat. The other day I took out three others with us and I noticed that my rpms had dropped to 4600 at wot. Is this normal? The extra added weight was about 600 lbs. including people and gear etc. My motor is a 2007 75 hp e-tec with about 10 hrs. on it. The prop is stainless and is a 14 x 11. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Load will absolutely affect RPM...at 4600 with the E-Tec, you're below the actual powerband. That engine also needs to have about 30-40hrs on it before making judgement on a prop just yet.

yea I can bank on anywhere from 2-3hundred on rpm based on load. Or a full tank of gas and lots of coolers full of "beverages".
