I am trying to restore a 1974 Invader Tri-hull fiberglass Boat. It has a 1974 Chrysler 75 hs. 3 cylinder outboard.Model 757HA.I have had lots of ignition and fuel problems. After replacing the power pack ,points, plugs, fuel hoses and removing and cleaning the fuel pump and all three carbs.it now starts and runs pretty good ( I think if I get it to run for a while witout overheating I can adjust carbs and it will be fine )I have the lower unit in a barrel with water. The problem now is it won't pump any water out the discharge ports.I haven't run it very long at a time because I am afraid of overheating.I am wondering if this model has a thermostat and it hasn't opened yet or is it a bad water pump and impeller?I have a service and maintainance manual but it isn't very clear on this subject ( not to me anyway ).Can someone give me some answers or advice. Please email me at pbryant@rivnet or answer here.Thanks.

My guess is a pump problem and from your discription it is probably overdue for a change.
Everything else was.
Thermostat is on the top of the head and may need a change as well.
