I have a ballistic SS prop on my 4.3L Mercruiser alpha 1. I've gotten a few dings due to shallow water where I launch. Luckily all at idle so nothing serious.

But how much is too much and when should it be replaced or repaired? And can SS be repaired?

No pictures are attached. I think you need three posts before you can attach pictures.

As far as how much is too much...I guess that depends on how its affecting your performance. If you're losing RPM's and max speed, might need to be repaired/replaced. If your not seeing any real effect to your max speed and RPM's are where you want them....you're probably okay.

unless all 3 blades are missing, get it repaired.

Thanks or the help. Much appreciated.
Odd... I can see the picture in my original post.
Regardless, It doesn't seem to be affecting my performance or speed. WOT RPM are right in range at about 4,500.
I was more worried that even though I am not feeling any vibration that it might be causing unwanted stress on the lower end bearings and such.
