2002 Honda 50 HP-WOT with the motor titled up a bit runs 28 mph @ 5500 rpms. Specs are 5500-6000 max rpms, is it ok to run motor 5500 rpms most of the time. 13P prop plains ok on a 16 foot aluminum boat DC about 1400 pounds with motor and cargo, just looking for a litte info so that i am not running the motor to hard but still getting the most speed out of it. Thanks for the input.

Is the speed by gps?I would say your in the ball park.Normally you would shoot for the top rpm
to improve hole shot and ability with a load. If you go to an 11 inch pitch you'll improve hole shot
and may stay on plane easier.Your rpm could be about 5900.You don't have to run 5900 all the time, just cruise.

Yes, speed is by GPS and speedo I think its accurate. I tried a 11 inch pitch RPMS were over 6000 and speed was only 20 MPH, going to try a 12' pitch dont want to loose speed I was thinking I should be getting about 30+ MPH, any suggestions on a brand or style of prop.
