On my 1800mx, the swim platform is about 1' off the water and I'm wondering if there is an easy way to get my dog on the boat? I haven't tried yet so I don't know if he can make it on his own (80lb Rottweiler) but I imagine that unless he can get some footing with his hind legs, that he's not going to be able to go from swimming to climbing very easily even with his life jacket on.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

I raise them and they are not very good swimmers as such.
It would be hard for him to get back onboard unless there is something he can get hold of with his hind legs.
They are strong, but just too much for him to pull himself back up with just the front legs.

For years I couldn't get him near the water until a family vacation found him and his brother chasing tennis balls in the Chesapeake Bay. It was the first time I had ever seen him play in the water and now every time we go for a walk by the lake he jumps in.

I may have to look into one of those pet ladders.
