D'oh, Indeed!

Hope that's not your setup...that looks like it truly sucks.

I hope he learned to use a safety chain and transom tie downs after that...

I see so many boats going down the road with only the winch strap holding it to the trailer....

If you run into a pole at 40 mph a safety chain and transom tiedowns will barely even slow a boat down. The eyelets will tear out of the hull almost instantly.

(hard to tell from those pics, but the front eyelet might be gone. The transom ones are still there)

Re: D'oh

Looks like a big boat for a single axle trailer. I do wonder how much those rear eyes could actually take if they were strapped down.

Re: D'oh

I run a strap across the entire boat hooked in to each side of the trailer as well as the eyes. Hope I never have to find out if it is enough though !!!

Wow. The trailer actually broke in half. Not much you can do there, except not hit a light pole at 40 mph.

Wow! You are not going to believe this, but that is the same make/model/color truck as mine, AND the same make/model/color (and I would assume year) boat as mine!!!!! I even have the same bimini top. Too weird...But for those that I'm sure will ask, THAT IS NOT ME (THANK GOD)!!!
I'm gonna copy that picture and have some fun with it, emailing it to a few friends with the caption: look what I did.

Sorry to break it to you, but it really IS you! You see, CR Cruiser is really an alien time traveler, and that picture was taken of you next summer. Aug 16, 2010, to be exact. He also knew that you would read this forum. To get out of this fate, all you need to do is change the color of your bimini top before next August.
All available here at iboats! :D

Ha! Good one. I must be taking a trip too, because those trees and stop lights don't look anything like the ones around here!

You have to admire how in that split second, the Bayliner managed to build its own cradle almost perfectly centered on the truck. It even stayed upright.

Must have been a bear of a thing to get it back off. Crane and slings?

Re: D'oh

I know a guy who was killed when his boat did that. head-on crash, small pick-up. Most likely the boat was tied down properly; he was a commercial fisherman
