hello<br /> dude I got one that is stumping me. in a bit I will remove the upper case to inspect I am just gathering ideas on a problem I have never seen. unit is a 1999 alpha 1 gen II with 3.0 power. while installing new pumpkits I noticed drive oildraining from both exhaust idle relief ports. ever seen that one. as soon as I get motivated I will remove the upper drive. I suspect the yoke isleaking and draining past the bellows sealand entering the exhaust cavity through a bad shifter shaft seal. ever seen drive oil drain from the exhaust reliefs ?

well never mind<br /> I just pulled the upper and figgured it out. seems the uppercase was not drained and this morning when I dropped the lower it drained from the upper to the exaust cavity and filled the exaust bellows. however that means the upper driven gear seal is leaking. time for a sea kit I guess. bummer for the customer mo money<br /> for me. gotta love them black anchors.

After reading these boards for a year and half, I had no idea you guys didn't like mercruisers. How come? What outdrives do you like? I have only owned two boats, one OMC and one mercruiser. The mercruiser is far and away better.
