A buddy of mine had bought a brand new jet ski. The fist time out he decided he would wd-40 the trailer bunks to make the ski slide off the trailer easier.

The second time he took the ski out, when he was backing toward the boat ramp (transon and bow straps unhooked for quicker unloading sake) someone yelled out "STOP", so he hit the truck brakes HARD and stopped. His ski slid off the trailer and onto the pavement (bouncing once and slidding to a stop about 10 ft. short of the water)..... (side note...jetskis are heavy too).

ps the guy who yelled stop was talking to one of his childern to prevent them from running in the parking lot.

Not a boat story but still.....

 Some folks might say (not I, of course)that that is a proper fate for a PWC.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

Re: Don't greese the bunks

Well, this is the mindset of most folks that buy them. Just as motorcycles are not considered a "motor vehicle" here in Florida, some states don't classify a PWC as a "Boat", so some folks who buy them don't treat them that way..Hence the "bad rap".
But I've seen a brand new bass rig that suffered the same fate. Allmost enough to make a grown man cry.
How is his machine? Is it still seaworthy?
The bass rig was heavily damaged, both hull and engine.

Re: Don't greese the bunks

well aside from some good scratches on a new hull it wasn't real bad. Still worthy for riding. The poor guy though...Before this one he had a new jet ski and let one of his friends ride it. Well to make a long story short, his ski was in an acident involving another jet ski and a dock. That ski got a hole in the hull and a new owner (his friend that was using it and responsiable for the acident reimburst him for it).

Some guys just have a cloud following them....
