So I take the little misses and the kiddies out to Lahonton near the end of summer for a few hours of sun and fun. Hmmm.... one old steel tank is rusted through (I got the boat after my grandfather died....)... no biggee...leave it in as a spacer and just run one tank...take extra gas. A few hours later, after towing the kids around, I decided to take the wife for a little tour of the north end of the lake. I take a quick look at the tank...oh ya...ove half-full...plenty of fuel... Well... long story short...after a 45 minute trip to the north end...getting a little frisky (hehehehe)....and then heading back.....cough...cough....what the???? Check the tank...hmm....still half-full! Open the cap.... dry to the bone! Float was stuck!! Funny thing is.....I'm ALWAYS telling the wife to NEVER.....EVER.....TRUST THE GAUGE! Luckily we had a very nice couple stop and help us out. Towed the boat to a sandy beach...took me back to my truck, got gas, and returned me to the boat. (almost an hour!) And then WOULDN'T TAKE MONEY, BEER, OR DINNER ON ME in return! Restored my faith in human nature! What goes around, comes around.... now if I could only find some poor sap....... :) <br />Bill

You took extra gas, but left it on shore?! That's a lot like not taking extra gas, isn't it?
