We are the proud new owners of an "older" (1984) doral trx. Is there anyone out there who owns or is familiar with trx's. We have a ton of questions....lol
with thanks, L & C

Hi. Are your questions specific to the trx, or are they more generic "first boat" type?? If generic, try posting the questions.

Hey there Another retired guy, I'm trying to get more info about the 84 trx as I have none at all. We bought the boat from a non boater who was selling it for a friend. It came with a manual for the 90 Evinrude that was on it fortunately but nothing for the boat. We have no clue as to weight capacity, # of passengers, max hp. ect. None of the gauges work and some dash mounted switches are a mystery. I appreciate your response though.
thanks,
Lou.

Re: Doral TRX Bowrider

What's the length of the boat? Under or over 20'?
Edit.
Looking at some Kijiji ads, it appears to be a 16/17 ft bow rider? If so, there should be a capacity plate on her somewhere. If it has been removed, this could be a problem for you if you are stopped by the OPP
There is an old formula that will give you a ROUGH idea of maximum capacity.
Multiply the length (in feet) by the width, and divide that figure by 15. That gives you max # of people. Round that number down and multiply by 150 - that gives you max weight ( which includes weight of gas and all "stuff" on board).
So for example, if the TRX is 16.5' long and 7.0' wide - that gives 115/15 = 7 people or 1050 lbs. NOTE that you will reach 1000lbs typically with 3 or 4 adults plus gas & gear.
