Double bow roller question

I have a roller style EZ Loader tandem trailer carrying a 22' cuddy. When loading the trailer, the winch cable ends up dragging the bow hook over the lower roller. The bow hook's final resting place is right under the upper roller where it's supposed to be. I just installed a new winch cable with a slightly larger hook and now the hook gouges the lower roller when it passes over it. The center v-hull roller also appars to be adjusted all the way up and is still missing the hull by 1/2". Does it sound like I need to lower both the double roller assembly and the winch?

This is one of those cases where a picture is really worth a thousand words.

Sounds like you need longer bow roller brackets...See pic... My boat came with really short ones so I replaced them with these and the problem completely went away...

Re: Double bow roller question

Where did you get that double bow roller setup? Was it standard on your trailer?

Does it pivot as you pull your boat on/off?

My trailer has just the 1 fixed position bow roller, but sometimes if I don't have the trailer backed down the ramp at the right position, the boat has a tendancy to go underneath the bow roller and hit the winch stand. I would love to modify mine so it has the added protection of a 2nd roller.

Yes, those bow roller brackets pivot. As a matter of fact, one of the brackets came with a pivot stop so it doesn't pivot too much. It's hard to explain but trust me, it works great. Contact http://www.hanksboats.com and order Four Winns part number 005-1070. You can call them too and ask for Tricha and she'll send them to you in about a week. You'll need 2 and they are about $35 each. I painted mine black to match my trailer and they work and look great. Good luck!
