A buddy of mine bought a project boat last week and the floors felt weird when I was in it tonight.. so we decided to pull the carpet to see what was going on and one thing led to another and we ended up haveing half the deck pulled out.

The amazing thing or should I say unusual thing was the previous owner had redecked the boat....but the left the old deck in place and just put new plywood (untreated and unpainted) over the origonal deck and then recarpeted .

Has anyone seen or heard of anyone doing this before??? seems like a big waste of time and money to do it that way to me.

Yup a band aid repair that NEVER works.... we have seen it here before and a few people have even tried it...... they will learn.

well, I guess I can understand what they were trying to accomplish, but you would have thought they would have at least tried to seal the plywood with paint or somthing.
